  • Shopping when you don’t really need or want anything

  • Chronic scrolling

No judgment. No shame, no blame. In a chronically stressed out society with mainstream messaging insisting to push through and sleep when you’re dead, it’s no wonder the reach for easy fixes to take the edge off is, well, easy.

I get it. I have been there.

As an energetically sensitive soul living in an overwhelming world, I experience chronic overstimulation as shards of glass piercing my invisible skin. Ongoing lack of rest causes cringe-worthy crankiness, annoying impatience, and the little things to feel like big things.

It’s not complicated. When I do not receive sufficient sleep, downtime, and restoration, I do not feel like my best self.

I have experienced disconnect, despair, and doubt of ever feeling like myself again. I have felt cut off from the neck down and attempted to live from the neck up. I have numbed, self-medicated, been lost, dazed, and confused. I know the dark night of the soul…

Fortunately, as a body geek, I have been learning about what the body is and how it works for decades. I have discovered, and directly experienced, how to live more comfortably in it. The more knowledge I have of its design, the more I am empowered to collaborate with it, rather than try to bypass it - an impossible task.

Your Body is Magnificent.

Your body is designed to return you to your natural state of ease (aka homeostasis) via an amazing array of healing systems.

One of these is your nervous system that interfaces between the external world and your inner experience.

Imagine it as the conductor of the orchestra, reading the room and then telling the musicians how to play.

Fight or calm down. Flight or stay grounded.

Freeze or energize. People-please or be you.

Speed up or slow your roll.

What kind of music do you want playing in your body?

Another way of asking this is: What state of be-ing do you want to live from?

Real relaxation IS experienced when the restorative aspects of your nervous system are engaged, so that you feel like yourself again. A soothing ebb in a frenzied flow.

When your nervous system is regulated - functioning the way it is naturally designed - you can experience an abundance of holistic wellness benefits such as:

  • Emotional steadiness

  • Better sleep

  • Reduced aches and pains

  • Less dis-ease

We have been under the spell of chronic stress for far too long and adapting to the inhumane pace of the modern world. This way of life and living is not sustainable.

There is a way through. You are not supposed to feel like intensely stressed out most of the time because you are not a machine. You are part of the natural world and designed to ebb and flow, effort and rest, work and play. When you are stuck in survival mode, parts of your nervous system have “forgotten” how to work on your behalf.

THE GOOD NEWS is that it is possible to reclaim states of being to feel safer in your skin and better in your body. This physiological reality is built-in; you don’t have to work hard to earn it, order online, or even deserve feeling this way.

You are naturally wired to feel easeful, calm, grounded, connected, ALIVE!

My embodiment journey has helped me to own my energetic experience and take charge of how I feel in my body from the inside out. I know in every trillions of cells in my body that real relaxation, sustainable ease, and a state of grace is a human and humane birthright.
